We recently traveled to Orlando Florida to spend Thanksgiving with our family in Tampa. We all flew in from different parts of the country for a weekend of family fun. My in-laws have a timeshare at the Sheraton Vistana Resort Villages Resort Villas, we had two rooms next to each other and the rooms were perfect for families complete with kitchens, living room, balcony and two bedrooms each with their own bathroom (crucial for larger families).
The pools were amazing and we were only about 10 minutes from Disney Parks and Downtown Disney. This was actually my first time in Orlando without going into a Disney Park, but we planned something extra special for our family at a Disney hotel instead. My husband was fortunate enough to have had a great year in his business and with a little extra bonus money we decided to treat our family to a private dinner in the Disney Grand Floridian Resort! As a wanna be event planner (well I actually did go to college for it, I just never landed career doing it) but planning a special event with Disney was like a dream for me! We decided on a Beauty and the Beast Theme and went from there.
We had so much having everyone together, and we even got a visit from Belle herself!!
We had so much fun just swimming in the pools and relaxing each day. We made one trip to downtown Disney and one dinner outing to Landry’s Seafood House which was also excellent
The second part of our trip was supposed to be a relaxing beach getaway to Clearwater Beach, FL but when a cold front came through, Florida temperatures dropped down into the 40s, which was not so good for laying on the beach. Instead we bought some sweatshirts (since I failed to pack enough warm clothes) and we spent a day at the Tampa Zoo, which is probably one of my most favorite Zoos.
And we couldn’t go to Clearwater and not take at least one walk down on the Beach, so Ada and I braved it for about 20 minutes and went down to stick out toes in the sand and run off some energy.
It was a great trip back to Florida again! Our next travels include a solo (girls trip for me) on a Bahama Cruise, which I am soo looking forward to after the Holiday’s! We have several more family trips planned to for 2019, so come back for more!
