Olcott Beach, NY – Summer Fun

Posted by

Summer has finally arrived full force in Buffalo. This past week we’ve been over 90 almost every day. Its a bit intense, but I’ll never complain since I’m a big whiner when it comes to the cold and snow. You can’t have it both ways!

We’ve been trying to figure out what to do with our back yard. We only have a small patio and our yard is a wicked wind tunnel. We already lost our glass top patio table back in March, that was fun to clean up. So until we decide what we really want we aren’t putting too much money into the yard. We’re sticking it out this summer to see how the weather patterns and sun are throughout the season and we’ll put a plan in place to expand next year. So far the only thing we did was create a little seating area around the fire pit we already had.

The girls love it so far and all Ada ever wants to do is make S’mores!

We took a short little trip out to Olcott Beach, NY this past weekend for dinner at the Wilson Boat House Restaurant a perfect little hidden gem right on the waterfront. Then we strolled the Lakeview Village shops and got ice cream. Nothing better then hot summer nights! The Olcott Beach Carousel Park is right there as well. Its a great little kiddie park for young ones. It was closed for the night when we went but they have cute rides for kids and everything is only $.25. A great way to spend a day on a budget! You can bring your own picnic lunch and theres a small little beach right there where you can dip your toes in the water.

Ada finished her last day of Pre-K 4 and I officially have a KINDERGARTENER!! How can this be happening already?! She had her graduation last week and looked adorable as ever. I can’t believe how grown up she is!

And my little baby is already 4 months old now. She has not been impressed with the heat we’ve been having, and she’s decided to regress on sleeping through the night. She was doing amazing and just this past week and a half she’s been eating every 2 hours again and waking up around 3am and 5am to eat more, I think Miss Piggy is having a growth spurt! She’s lucky she’s so cute!

Lots more summer coming our way, 4th of July week is my favorite of the year, so I’ll share what we’re up to. I feel like its not really summer until the 4th, so we have lots of adventures to plan for the next couple months!
